For Fall 2024, use this Informational Visit Request Form to request either an in-person or a 10-15 minute synchronous Zoom session from a writing center consultant. If you would like to have this session recorded for later use in your class, please indicate when prompted in the form. The UWC will record the session and send you a link to that recording after the session.

The Writing Across the Curriculum Program (WAC) offers support for faculty teaching writing and using writing as a learning tool at all levels of education at Appalachian.
- Support in course-oriented writing related to student assignments, syllabus development and feedback to student texts
Faculty Writing Support from the University Writing Center
Our faculty and professional consultants are experienced writers and attentive readers; they are qualified to assist faculty with a variety of writing-related tasks, including
- professional writing such as articles or conference submissions, C.V.s, grant proposals, AP&P course proposals and faculty reviews
- personal writing such as fiction, poetry, personal memoirs and community writing
