Handouts and WAGs
The Writing Center has an excellent collection of resources for students and faculty. These are available on our website at https://writingcenter.appstate.edu/handouts. Here you can find handouts on general principles of documentation, documentation styles (MLA, APA, Chicago, AP, CSE), grammar and mechanics, academic research genres and practices, links to other electronic resources, professional writing guidelines, resume building and links to additional writing and research information. We also provide sample papers for reference, templates for different documentation styles in Word and Docs formats, and links for additional investigation. Our resources are constantly revised to ensure they reflect up-to-date and accurate information and standards.
The Writing About Guidelines (WAGs), created by Writing Across the Curriculum in conjunction with consultants from the UWC, contain information about discipline-specific standards for composition and documentation in each subject area. WAC solicited feedback from professors in the respective disciplines to ensure the accuracy of the guidelines; if you would like to suggest a change, contact WAC by email at wac@appstate.edu, or at (828) 262-2075.
