Welcome to the University Writing Center Video
The University Writing Center is located in Suite 204 of the Belk Library and Information Commons. Writing consultants will work with you one-to-one and provide you assistance with content development, organization, voice, grammar and documentation (including MLA, APA, Chicago style, and others). Bring your assignment, notes or relevant resources and any writing you have completed with you to your session. To make an appointment, go to Trac Cloud, call 828-262-3144 or visit the website (writingcenter.appstate.edu) for current hours and additional information and resources.
English Language Learners (ELL)
ELL students are encouraged to make use of the University Writing Center. Consultants can help with the unique needs of these students, including clarity, organization, grammar and spelling, formatting and the theory and practice of documenting outside resources. Consultants can also help students better understand assignment guidelines.
Multiple Sessions
Appointments are limited to 45 minutes per day, but students are welcome to schedule multiple visits for longer assignments or more in-depth assistance throughout the writing process.
Group Assignments
The University Writing Center is available to help with group papers, presentations and projects. Consultants can assist your group with collaboration, content, organization, style and grammar. Sessions are limited to 45 minutes, and all group members must be present for the consultation.
